Mrs. Tara Opsteen-Van Dyke &
Mrs. Ann Vanden Wymelenberg
Welcome you to 8th Grade |
Mrs. Tara Opsteen-Van Dyke
My name is Mrs. Tara Opsteen-Van
Dyke, or as my students usually call me, Mrs. OVD. This is my seventh year of
teaching, all of which have been with KCSS. I previously taught eighth grade
literature and English at St. Mary Middle School before taking the past four
years off to be a stay-at-home mom. I am now very excited to be returning to
the classroom to teach eighth grade literature, English, and religion at Holy
Cross! I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from UW-Oshkosh, with a
minor in language arts.
When I am not teaching, I love
reading, playing the piano, playing percussion with the Kimberly Community Band,
scrapbooking, camping, cross-country skiing, and biking. My husband and I have
a beautiful daughter, who is the light of our lives. As a family, one of our
favorite things to do is travel around the Great Lakes seeing lighthouses. To
date, we have seen around 130, with our favorite being the Pointe au Baril
Lighthouse in Canada.

Mrs. Ann Vanden Wymelenberg
My name is Ann Vanden Wymelenberg. I am beginning my sixteenth year of
teaching: all of them at KCSS. This year I will be teaching algebra and social
studies to the eighth graders and social studies to the seventh graders. That
represents a change for me as I have not taught seventh grade in about 11 years.
I am really looking forward to it! I am a graduate of St. Norbert College where
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadfield Social Studies with a minor in
secondary education. On a personal note, my husband and I reside in Wrightstown
and have one two-year-old son and a German Shepherd. Both of them keep us very
busy. In my free time, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, gardening, camping, and
boating.
