2008-2009 Tuition Information
An important blessing is the generosity of our
parishes. This partnership of parish and school has been in existence for years.
Together we succeed in educating the whole child. We realize, for many families,
sending your child to KCSS involves sacrifice. We strive to give you and your
children the best education possible at the lowest possible expense.
The Finance Committee of the KCSS Board of Trustees has been hard at work
since November developing our budget. Historically, our parishes have funded
over 50% of our school budget. This has become increasingly difficult for them,
due in part to low sacrificial giving. They have always come through for us, but
not without great difficulty. It has become evident to the KCSS Board of
Trustees and its Finance Committee that we can not continue to rely so heavily
on our four parishes. Therefore, KCSS families must take on a larger portion of
the cost to educate their children.
This year the tuition reflects a gradual shift of the cost to educate going
to KCSS families. For the first time, parents will be paying as much toward
their child's tuition as the parishes do. This is necessary to ensure the long
term success of KCSS.
- The cost to educate one child in KCSS is $3,982.
- Your tuition payment of $1,810 covers approximately 45% of that amount.
- The parish subsidies contribute approximately 40% of our operating
budget, which equals $1,593 per child. Please remember your parish.
- Third source fundraising defrays the remaining cost at 15%.

Volunteer Requirements
Again, we have our volunteer requirement. We're requiring each family
to volunteer 10 hours during the school year or pay a $100 fee. Upon
completion and verification of 10 volunteer hours, a $100 credit will be
applied to your bill. Many opportunities to volunteer throughout the system
will be made available to you during the 2007-2008 school year.
Tuition Assistance
We as a school system want to help any family who needs tuition assistance.
It is handled in a confidential manner by having a meeting with either the
pastor or the principal. Please indicate your need for tuition assistance on the
registration form. Then the principal will contact you for an appointment in
the spring.
